Veritaza

Terms of use

Version of 30 October 2026.

1. What Veritaza does

Veritaza checks for warning signs based on what you send us: photos, mobile number, email address, name or username, bits of messages and a photo of an ID document. The result is a report with seven boxes, each green, yellow or red, with one sentence.

2. What Veritaza doesn't promise

No check catches every scammer. A report without warning signs is a good sign, but it isn't proof that the person can be trusted. A warning sign isn't proof that the person is a scammer. We never say that an ID document is genuine: we only look for signs of forgery. Searches for fraud cases and reports may turn up people with the same name: always use the link to check whether it's the same person.

3. For personal use only

You confirm that the report is for your personal use only, to decide whether to trust a person you're in contact with. You may not publish the report, use it to expose, threaten or harass anyone, or use it to decide on a job, credit or a tenancy.

4. What we never show

The report never shows anyone's address, where they live, their partner or their family. We don't use facial recognition. We don't tell the person who was checked.

5. Fingerprints

From the photos and numbers you send us we keep a fingerprint: a code calculated from the photo or the number (SHA-256) that can't be turned back into the photo or the number and has no name attached. We also keep how many times the same code was checked and how many people answered that the person asked them for money. That's how check 5 can say "other people have already checked these photos". The fingerprints are deleted 2 years after the last check.

6. Payment

The report costs TSh 5,000 and is paid with mobile money (M-Pesa, Airtel Money or Mixx by Yas) through our payment partner Rapyd. We don't take cards. Payments in Tanzania open soon.

7. How long the report is available

The link to the report works for 30 days. After that, the report and everything you sent us are deleted.

8. If you think you were flagged by mistake

If you think something about you is wrong, or you want us to delete the fingerprint of your photo or your number, email us at ola@veritaza.com. We reply on working days and correct or delete whatever is wrong.

9. Responsible party
