How do I avoid fake concert ticket sellers online?

Buy only from the official ticket seller or from a person you can meet and verify, and never pay a deposit for a ticket you have only seen as a screenshot. Scammers use the same ticket image for dozens of buyers, show fake "legit" feedback, and disappear after the GCash transfer.

Ticket scams peak the week a concert sells out. Accounts appear in fan groups with "selling 2 tickets, GCash only", edited screenshots of the ticket email, and a fake chat with a previous "satisfied" buyer. Sometimes the ticket is real but sold to ten people.

What to check

  1. Look at the seller's profile: age, posts, real friends, previous concert posts.
  2. Reverse image search the ticket screenshot: the same image for sale by several accounts is a scam.
  3. Ask for a video of the ticket in the official app with your name written on paper, not a screenshot.
  4. Prefer meet-up and transfer of the ticket in the official app on the spot, in a public place.
  5. Search the seller's name, username and GCash number with "scammer" and the concert name.
  6. Never pay a "reservation" or "half now, half later" to a stranger.

Frequently asked questions

The seller sent a selfie with their ID. Is that proof?
No. Selfies with IDs are stolen and reused. Veritaza can check a photo of an ID for signs of tampering, but never says an ID is genuine.
