Veritaza

I paid and the seller blocked me. What can I do?

Act fast: contact GCash through the Help Center in the app, or your bank, and report the transaction as a scam, asking them to hold the money in the receiving account. Then save every screenshot and report the seller to the platform and to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group or the NBI Cybercrime Division.

Being blocked is the clearest confirmation of a scam. The money may still be in the receiving GCash or bank account for a short time, which is why the first call matters. Even if it cannot be recovered, your report connects your case with other victims of the same account.

Step by step

  1. Contact GCash (Help Center in the app) or your bank now, with the reference number, amount and the receiving account.
  2. Screenshot the seller's profile, the listing, the chat and the receipt, before the account disappears.
  3. Report the profile on Facebook or Instagram as a scam.
  4. File a report with the PNP ACG or the NBI Cybercrime Division, or call the CICC hotline 1326. The case is usually estafa.
  5. Post a warning in the group where you found the seller, with the account name and number, to protect others.

Frequently asked questions

The amount is small. Is it worth reporting?
Yes. Scammers take small amounts from many people. Your report and the account number help build a case.
Can I still check the seller after being blocked?
Yes. If you have the number, the name or screenshots of the profile, Veritaza can check if the number is on scam lists and if the name appears in scam reports, which helps your report.
