The person says "I love you" after only a few days of chatting. Is that a scam?

Very fast love is a common sign of a romance scam, not proof on its own. Scammers call it love bombing: they say "I love you", "my wife", "my husband" and talk about a future together within days, so that you feel close before they ask for anything.

Some people really do fall fast. The difference is what comes next. A scammer uses the feeling: once you feel loved, saying no to a request for load, padala or an "investment" feels like betraying the relationship. That is the whole point of the speed.

What to do

  1. Slow down. Say you want to know the person first, and watch the reaction: a real person accepts it, a scammer pushes harder.
  2. Ask for a video call at a time you choose. Repeated excuses are a sign.
  3. Notice if the person wants you to keep the relationship secret from friends and family.
  4. Do not send money, load, gifts or codes, no matter how sweet the messages are.
  5. Check the photos and the messages: love bombers often copy the same lines to many people at once.

Frequently asked questions

The person seems so sincere. Can love bombing be real love?
It can happen, but a sincere person does not mind waiting, meeting on video and being introduced to your friends. Watch what they do when you slow down.
