The job abroad needs a "visa processing" payment to a personal GCash account. Is that a scam?

Yes. Legitimate agencies collect fees at their office with official receipts, and many costs for overseas jobs are paid by the employer; a "visa processing" fee by GCash to a personal account is the recruiter's own pocket. Once paid, the deployment date keeps moving and new fees appear.

The script: a job in Canada, Poland, Japan or the Middle East, high salary, urgent slots. Fees come in stages: processing, medical, visa, "contract signing", "insurance". Each stage is "the last". The visa never comes.

What to do

  1. Do not pay. Ask for the agency's DMW license and the job order first.
  2. Any legitimate fee is paid at the agency office with an official receipt, never to a personal GCash.
  3. Search the recruiter's name and number with "illegal recruitment".
  4. If you already paid, save receipts and chats and report to the DMW and the PNP ACG or the NBI.
  5. Check the recruiter's number and messages: the same script is used on many people.

Frequently asked questions

The recruiter says the fee is refundable after deployment. Believable?
No. There will be no deployment. Refund promises from an unlicensed recruiter are part of the script.
