Veritaza

What does Veritaza check?

Veritaza runs seven checks for signs of a scam based on what you send: photos, messages, number and email, scam cases and complaints, other checks of the same photos or number, name and username, and the ID. The result is a report with seven green, yellow or red boxes.

Veritaza looks for warning signs. It cannot catch every scammer. When we find nothing, we say exactly that: no warning signs – a good sign, but not proof.

The seven checks

  1. The photos: the same image elsewhere on the internet.
  2. The messages: the same lines copied elsewhere.
  3. Number and email: scam lists, virtual numbers and country.
  4. Scam cases and complaints: the name together with estafa, scam or arrested in news, forums and warning sites, with the link so you can confirm if it is the same person.
  5. Other checks: how many people have already checked the same photos or the same number, and how many said the person asked them for money.
  6. Name and username: together with "scammer", "scam" and "budol" in news and forums.
  7. The ID: signs of tampering and whether the PhilSys number has a possible format. We never say that an ID is genuine.
