Before you trust, check for warning signs
Met someone online – on a dating app, a matrimonial site, while buying or selling, looking for a flat or a job? Veritaza checks the person's photos, messages, mobile number, email ID, name and ID card, and shows you if there are signs of fraud.

Veritaza looks for warning signs. It cannot catch every scammer. If we find nothing, that is a good sign, but it is not proof.
How it works
Send us whatever you have: profile photos, the mobile number, the email ID, the name or username, bits of the chat and, if the person sent you one, a photo of their ID card.

We run seven checks and email you the link to your report, usually within a few minutes.
The seven checks
1. The photos
We look for the same photo elsewhere on the internet. Photos stolen from someone else are a classic sign of a fake profile.
2. The messages
We search the internet for the same text. Scammers often copy the same script and send it to many people.
3. Number and email
We check whether the number or the email ID shows up on fraud lists, whether the number is virtual and which country it is from.
4. Fraud cases and FIRs
We search news, forums and warning sites for the name together with words like "fraud", "cheating" and "FIR", with the link so you can confirm whether it is the same person.
5. Other checks
We show you how many people have already checked the same photos or the same number on Veritaza, and how many said the person asked them for money.
6. Name and username
We search for the name and the username together with words like "scam", "scammer" and "fraud" in news, forums and warning pages.
7. The ID card
If the person sent you a photo of their PAN card, passport, driving licence or voter ID, we look for signs of forgery and check whether the PAN is a possible number. We never say an ID card is genuine. Never send us an Aadhaar card or number – Veritaza never stores Aadhaar.
What we never do
- We never show an address, where the person lives, a partner or family.
- We do not use face recognition.
- We never tell the person that you checked them.
- We do not publish lists of people.
What happens to what you send
The photos, numbers, texts and the report are deleted after 30 days. We keep only a fingerprint of the photos and numbers (a code that cannot be turned back into the photo or the number) for 2 years, so the next person can see if others have already checked the same profile. Read more.
