The job interview was only by chat and I got hired right away. Is that normal?
No. Real employers interview by call or video, check documents and take days to decide; being hired within minutes after a few questions in Messenger or Telegram means the job does not exist. What comes next is the real purpose: a fee, your ID and bank details, or a task that needs a deposit.
Chat "interviews" ask easy questions, praise your answers and congratulate you. The salary is high and the start date is tomorrow. The onboarding then requires a training fee, equipment, or that you "activate" an account with your own money.
What to look at
- Was there a voice or video interview with a named person from a company you can verify?
- Does the company have a careers page listing the job?
- Did anyone check your CV, references or documents before hiring you?
- Is there an email from the company's domain, not Gmail or Telegram?
- Has anything been asked of you, money, ID, bank details, before a contract?
Frequently asked questions
- I was hired instantly for a BPO job. Could it be real?
- BPOs do hire fast, but through assessments, calls and an office or official video process. A Telegram chat is not that.
