Is the "like and subscribe" job that pays per task legit?

No. The task job is a scam with a real-looking start: you get paid small amounts for liking videos or rating hotels, then you are told to deposit your own money to unlock higher-paying tasks, and the deposit is never returned. The first small payments are the bait.

The scheme runs in Telegram or WhatsApp groups with a "mentor" and other "members" who post screenshots of earnings. Soon a task shows a negative balance that you must top up to continue, then a bigger one. People lose far more than they ever earned.

How to recognise it

  1. The job came from a text or a chat, not from a company you applied to.
  2. Pay is high for tasks anyone can do in seconds.
  3. The first payouts are real and small; then a "deposit", "top-up" or "VIP level" appears.
  4. Earnings are shown in an app or site you cannot find in an official store or on the SEC site.
  5. Stop at the first request to pay anything. Report the group and the number.

Frequently asked questions

I already deposited to unlock a task. Can I get it back by finishing?
No. Finishing leads to a bigger deposit. Stop, save the proof and contact GCash or your bank.
