Veritaza

The buyer sent a payment screenshot but no money came. What does it mean?

It means you have not been paid. Screenshots are edited easily and are used every day to collect goods without paying; the only proof of payment is the credit in your own bank or UPI app. Do not hand over anything until you see it there.

The buyer will say the money is "pending", "will reflect in 24 hours" or that "the bank is slow today". Sometimes they also send a fake SMS. A genuine UPI payment shows in your app within seconds.

What to do

  1. Open your bank or UPI app and check the balance and transaction history yourself.
  2. Do not accept screenshots, SMS forwards or "pending" explanations.
  3. If no money shows, do not deliver the item and do not refund anything.
  4. Block the buyer and report the profile on the platform.

Frequently asked questions

Can a UPI payment really take 24 hours?
Rarely, and then it shows as pending in the sender's app with a reference you can check. If nothing shows on your side, you were not paid.
