Veritaza

How do I know if a profile on a matrimonial site is fake?

A fake matrimonial profile usually has a very good job abroad, few or very polished photos, a family that is never available, and a rush to move to WhatsApp and talk about money or "wedding expenses". No single sign is proof, but the pattern is easy to see once you know it.

Matrimonial scams work because people expect to discuss family, money and plans early. The scammer uses this: within weeks there is talk of a wedding, then a problem – a business loss, a customs issue, a ticket – that needs your help. Some scammers are also married already and use the site for affairs.

How to check

  1. Reverse image search the photos: a stolen photo under another name ends the matter.
  2. Ask for a video call with the person and, separately, with a family member.
  3. Verify the job: search the company, call its official number and ask whether the person works there.
  4. Be careful if the profile was created recently and the person is already "ready to marry".
  5. Never send money, gold or documents before the families have met in person.

Frequently asked questions

The site says the profile is "ID verified". Can I trust it?
It means someone uploaded an ID, not that the person is honest or single. Treat it as one small sign, not as proof.
Does Veritaza show whether the person is already married?
No. Veritaza never shows partner, family or address. It checks whether the photos, messages, number and name show signs of fraud.
