Veritaza

The person's photos look like a model or a celebrity. What does that mean?

Professional-looking photos are a warning sign, because scammers steal pictures of models, influencers, athletes, doctors and soldiers to look attractive and trustworthy. Do a reverse image search: if the photos belong to a public person, the account is fake.

Real people have a mix of photos: some good, some blurry, with friends, at work, at a birthday. A profile where every photo looks like an advertisement, with the same lighting and no ordinary moments, was probably collected from one source.

What to do

  1. Reverse image search three or four photos, not only the profile picture.
  2. Look for ordinary photos: with family, at a jeepney stop, at a sari-sari store, anything not posed.
  3. Ask for a fresh photo with a gesture or object you choose, or a short video call.
  4. Check if other people have already checked the same photos: Veritaza's check 5 shows that.
  5. Do not send anything, money or personal photos, until the pictures are confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

What if the person really is a model?
Then they will have a public account you can find, with the same photos, and will not mind a video call. A real model does not ask you for load.
